On behalf of the Global Association of Economics Education (GAEE), we would like to thank you for your interest and support for the Pacific Gathering 2020 of our GAEE Chapters in North America, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. Modeled after the success of our GAEE Southeast Asia 2019 Summit Week and Rethinking Economics’ Nordic Weekend Gathering 2019, Pacific Gathering 2020 had been envisioned as an informal conference to strengthen the link among our Asia-Pacific Chapters and broaden our mission of international impact through fostering access to personal finance and economics education.
Yet fundamentally, the safety of all participants at our conference is of utmost importance. Although all of us at the Global Association of Economics Education were grateful for the enthusiasm expressed in the survey last March and genuinely looked forward to bringing the conference to Los Angeles this July, after much consultation with various stakeholders regarding the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to announce that the Pacific Gathering 2020 will be canceled. Please be assured that all participants who have completed payment during the Early Bird’s registration will receive a full refund. We will be in touch to work on the refund procedures, and we aim to complete all refunds within seven working days. Please direct any queries to [email protected].
