The Seoul-based branch of the Global Association of Economics Education (GAEE Seoul) and ROX Gaming are excited to launch the 2020 E-Sports Industry Business Contest. This is an opportunity for Korean students to put their creative thoughts into real-world work, displaying their knowledge in business and originality. Students will focus on combining the facts with their original ideas and producing well-reasoned arguments in a sound manner. Winners will be eligible for winter or summer internship at ROX Gaming, South Korea’s leading E-Sports company. This year’s competition is sponsored by Corsair and Newzoo.

E-Sports industry is one of the industries with huge growth potential. It is a form of competition involving video or computer games and is frequently organized as multiplayer game competitions. In the fall of 2018, 99 million television and online viewers tuned in to watch the League of Legends 2018 World Championship Finals. The 2018 Super Bowl, regarded as the gold standard for sports viewership, was viewed by 103 million people. This shows just how E-Sports has become competitive over the years. E-sports has become so popular that stadiums are being constructed for the more popular events, such as the Overwatch League. The 2019 Fortnite World Cup was played in Arthur Ashe Stadium, home of The US Open, and similar E-Sports events sell out arenas, such as New York’s Madison Square Garden and LA’s Staples Center. E-Sports’ rapid rise is unsurprising given these instances. There are multiple ways people try to expand the industry across the world and in light of above, GAEE, ROX Gaming sponsored by Corsair and Newzoo host 2020 E-Sports Industry Business Contest.
